977 Albums (78.6gb)

Like most "Best Of" albums, Forty Licks is missing a couple of what you'd think would be "no brainers" to include on any 2 CD best of album for the Stones... But with 40 really quality tunes, you find that there is so much good here that the little bit of missing isn't really missed. Not a big Stones fan, but now and then I like a fix of their stuff and this does very very nicely.

The fall to spring of 1980-81 is when my love of music really took hold of me, oh all that allowance money I spent at Eddie's Music City on 45's and Lps... This album being one of the founders and shaper of my music collection and tastes for years to come. Even some 25+ years later, this is one really good album.

I enjoy Springsteens music and I find this a really enjoyable detour. Even a big artist like Springsteen doing an album of nothing but covers, even of Seeger, has their work cut out for them to make it a quality listen. Well...Bruce did it, this is one of those albums that once you start listening to it, its just infectious, and you want to hear it all the way thru. :)
Album Artist: Bruce Springsteen

Most people know or think of Cock Robin as that mellow-pop one hit wonder of the 80's...and I originally added their "Best Of" album to my collection as just that, to have their single 80s hit in my collection (When Your Heart Is Weak-1985). But after a listen to all the tracks on that album, this group really doesnt deserve the moniker of "One Hit...", why this band didn't get more popular...who knows, but a really good listen and very over-looked 80s pop group if you ask me.
Album Artist: Cock Robin

If you noticed today, I'm into a Styx mood....well I noticed Dennis had a new album, still listening to it, so not alot of an opinion on it just yet. Its pop-rock'ish with typical DeYoung keyboards of coarse. Not heard just that "Great" track on it...so I'd have to give it an okay grade but nothing special.
Album Artist: Dennis DeYoung
Album Title: One Hundred Years From Now
Year: 2007
Genre: Pop
Quality: 256

A Single CD "Best Of" for styx, of coarse you've gotta expect holes in it, but a good causal fan best of. The version of Lady on this is the newer 1995 version and not the classic, so definite a black-mark for that subsitution.

I like Styx, but you want to see what's wrong with record companys, this album is one great example, none of the tracks on this album called "Extended Versions" are really "Extended Versions".....this album is made up of 10 tracks from Styx's 2 CD 1997 Return to Paradise concert album....if your going huh? what the? yeap you understand this album about as good as me.... The 10 tracks that are here are good ones, but the customer is basically buying a partial previously released album and nothing even close to what a person would expect from this album's title.
